JANUARY Plant spring-flowering bulbs such as tulips and hyacinths. (For bulbs such as these to bloom in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, they must be chilled in the refrigerator. See the November listing for instructions.) Begin transplanting plants in the landscape, keeping them out of the ground as short a time as possible. Water is the difference between success and failure. Keep the plant moist but not soaking wet. Do not fertilize plants when they are transplanted.
